Fees and Insurance

Good therapy should feel within reach.

Our fees and payment options are structured to accommodate the diverse needs of our clients, so that quality care stays accessible for individuals, couples, and families across the Bay Area and throughout California.

Below is a clear overview of what we charge, the insurance we accept, and how out-of-network reimbursement works. If anything raises a question, please reach out. Our team is glad to help you sort out the details before you begin.

Our Fees Start At:

Individual Therapy (with associate therapist)

Z

Children: $150 per 45-minute session

Couples and Family Therapy (with associate therapist)

Z

Couples and Families $175 for 50 minutes

We’re committed to making therapy accessible and affordable, and we’d rather talk it through than have cost quietly keep you away. Please reach out to explore the range of options we offer to help make care work for you and your loved ones.

For your convenience, we accept various payment methods, including FSA cards.

Insurance

We are in network with Cigna and Aetna, for both in-person and online sessions. If you have one of these plans, our team is happy to help you check your benefits before your first session, so you have a clear picture of your coverage going in.

A quick note on EAPs: we’ve chosen not to work with Employee Assistance Programs, because their compensation rates make it hard to sustain the quality of care we’re committed to. Our focus stays on delivering thoughtful, personalized therapy directly to our clients.

Out-of-Network Insurance

For all other insurance providers, we are considered out of network. In that case, we’ll provide a detailed receipt, often called a superbill, that you can submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement.

If you’re not sure what your plan covers, it’s worth contacting your insurance provider directly to ask about coverage for counseling services and what, if anything, they reimburse for an out-of-network provider. We’re glad to provide our tax ID on request so you can confirm your coverage.

Our Philosophy on Care and Cost

Our team is made up of empathetic, skilled clinicians deeply committed to thoughtful, personalized care. We gather weekly for training and consultation to sharpen our skills, grounded in Deliberate Practice, a research-based training method designed to make therapy more effective over time.

Some of us are pre-licensed clinicians completing hours toward full licensure, working under supervision, and their dedication shows in every session. Care with an associate clinician can also be a more affordable way to begin. You can read more about each member of our team, and the paths that brought them here, on our Meet Our Team page.

Common questions about fees & insurance

Do you take my insurance?

We’re in network with Cigna and Aetna for both in-person and online sessions. If you have a different plan, we’re considered out of network, and we’ll give you a receipt to submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement. Either way, our team can help you understand your options before you start.

What if I'm out of network?

You can still see us. We’ll provide a detailed superbill you can submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. It helps to call your insurer ahead of time to ask what they reimburse for out-of-network counseling, and we’re glad to share our tax ID so you can confirm coverage.

Can I use my FSA or HSA?

Yes. We accept FSA and HSA cards along with our other payment methods. If you’d like to use your FSA or HSA, reach out and we’ll make sure you have what you need for your account.

Is there a more affordable option?

Often, yes. Several of our clinicians are pre-licensed associates working under supervision, and sessions with them can be a more accessible way to begin quality care. Reach out and we can talk through what might work for your situation.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

We’re committed to making therapy accessible, and we’d always rather have the conversation than let cost stand in your way. Please reach out to explore the options we have available for you and your family.

How does payment work for couples or family sessions?

Couples and family sessions with an associate are $175 for 50 minutes or $225 for 75 minutes, and your therapist will help you choose the length that fits your needs. Payment is handled the same way as individual sessions, including FSA or HSA cards and, for Cigna and Aetna members, your insurance benefits.
