Kim Cotton
Hi, my name is Kim Cotton
Life is full of ups and downs, and navigating challenges on your own can be difficult. Even reaching out for support can feel overwhelming. It is wonderful that you are taking this step on your journey, and I would love to be a part of that with you.
I believe that, given insight and encouragement, everyone has the ability to grow toward who they want to be and the life they desire to have.
I employ an encouraging, strengths-based and collaborative approach. I believe that you are the expert of your own experiences and that you ultimately have your answers within. My goal is to help you navigate the process of discovering what those answers are for you. Having a trusted and trained ear can make all the difference. A positive therapeutic relationship is one of the most critical factors in helping you make the changes you want to see, or in exploring the experiences that make you whole.
I work with adolescents and adults who are navigating life transitions and other challenges, have distressing or confusing feelings, or would like to process past trauma. I have experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Attachment Theory, bottom-up approach, Existential Therapy, and self-compassion work. I bring elements of my training and experience to help you explore and heal.
I strive to support my clients in feeling understood and accepted, which is of course a desire we all share. I believe that growth and healing happen in a safe, non-judgmental space where you can share honestly and openly. I am sex positive, kink and poly affirming, LGBTQ friendly, and queer allied. Think of therapy as your time, and I would be honored to assist you on your individualized path toward your goals.
