Tips for Online Sessions

We will be using telehealth services for your sessions. Please “arrive” at least 5 minutes early. I will come online at our appointment time.

Please use the best internet source that you can. Video sessions use more bandwidth than other online purposes do.

You can attend sessions online from your computer or phone, using a camera and sound. You may be prompted to download an app. Please make sure the laptop or phone is on a table or surface instead of your knees. Ideally, your face would be toward the top of the screen.

Find a place that is quiet and private, where you won’t be interrupted. Position yourself with no windows or lights behind you, as they can distort your image. If you’re in a house with other people, it can be helpful to play music outside the door of the room you are in.

If there is more than one person, plus make sure you turn off your virtual background, as it doesn’t work when there are 2 or more people.

If you don’t see me right away at the appointed time, please text me. I will do the same. If we are disconnected during our call for whatever reason, please go back to the “virtual waiting room,” and I will meet you there.
