Frequently Asked Questions
Who is therapy for?
Anybody can benefit from therapy. Seeking help from a professional counselor does not mean there is anything “wrong” with you. We can all use a little guidance from time to time, and that’s exactly why Therapy for Every Body was founded—for people of all walks of life to experience a safe space free from the demands and pressures of everyday life.
With that being said, some of us experience more severe mental health conditions that require specialized treatment. These can be acute conditions that arise in response to life transitions, trauma, or grief. But they can also be chronic conditions that may ebb and flow over the course of a lifetime.
We offer therapy to patients of all ages, from childhood and adolescence all the way through adulthood and retirement.
What can you get out of therapy?
Our clients are often surprised at the breakthroughs and revelations that happen in therapy. The fact is, each and every one of us has endured challenging circumstances in one form or another. Many of us don’t realize the impact of these experiences until we uncover them later on. And if our emotional scars go untreated, they can come back with a vengeance when we least expect it.
Through therapy, you can learn skills to cope with life’s surprises and challenges better. You can get to the root cause and heal old wounds. And you can feel empowered as you get in touch with your strengths.
As you consider whether you’re ready to try therapy, ask yourself these questions:
- Are you feeling stressed out, burned out, or bummed out?
- Are you overwhelmed by relationships, work, or other pressures?
- Do you need help figuring out your next steps?
- Do you want to feel heard and understood?
If you answered yes to any (or all!) of these questions, therapy might be the right choice for you. Book a consultation today to get started.
What kind of therapy is right for you?
When you book a consultation, we’ll match you with a therapist based on your individual needs and scheduling availability. During your first visit, your therapist will complete an assessment, and together we’ll map out a treatment plan. What you need from therapy may evolve over time, and we’ll check in with you throughout the course of your treatment to ensure that you’re getting the most out of your experience.
Our therapists are trained in a number of disciplines to treat clinical depression, anxiety, anger management issues, trauma, relationship challenges, and more. We draw on a wide range of techniques and treatment models, including:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
- Person-centered therapy
- Attachment theory
- Existential therapy
- The Gottman method
- Narrative therapy
- …and many more!
How much does therapy cost?
Your out-of-pocket costs may vary depending on your insurance provider and plan. Therapy for Every Body is in network with Cigna and Beacon Health Options. However, if you are insured by another provider, you may qualify for partial reimbursement if your insurance plan offers out-of-network benefits.
The full fee for a one-hour session is $150. For clients experiencing financial challenges, we offer a reduced fee as low as $80 per session. These spaces are limited and subject to availability. Contact us to learn more.
Do you have to come into the office for treatment?
Therapy for Every Body is a fully remote healthcare provider, so we don’t actually have a physical office. All appointments are conducted via teleconference. That means you can experience all of the benefits of a conventional therapy session from the comfort of your own home, office, or (parked) car, anywhere in California.
Ready to take the next step?
Making the choice to start therapy can feel scary, especially if it’s your first time. We’re here to answer any questions you may have and encourage you on your journey of acceptance, healing, and growth.
