About Alexandra
In our first few sessions, we’ll slow things down and gently explore the patterns that shape and maintain your struggles. We’ll get curious about how they show up in your day-to-day life, when they tend to appear, and what purpose they may be serving.
Even the patterns that feel most painful often began as ways to protect you. Perfectionism might help you avoid criticism. Numbing your feelings may have once been necessary for survival. Self-criticism can sometimes feel like motivation. Together, we’ll bring compassion and understanding to these patterns so we can see what they’ve been trying to do for you and begin to make space for something different.
From there, we’ll draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to build a practical, personalized toolkit for change. You’ll practice new ways of relating to difficult thoughts and emotions so they don’t have to take the lead. We’ll also explore what a meaningful, fulfilling life looks like for you, and use your values as a guide for moving toward it with more openness and vitality.
And if any of this feels overwhelming or even a little impossible right now, that’s okay. We’ll take it one step at a time. Every step counts.
